The Legislation of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the capacity of a digital computer or robot operated by a computer to carry out actions frequently performed by intelligent beings. This paper examines the parallel evolution of AI and the laws and regulations pertaining to the curtailment of its negative effects. While AI has many social advantages, such as improved medical technology, it also has many moral drawbacks. The debate is whether the regulations put out by the UNESCO, EU, UK, and FDA are sufficient to maximize the advantages and minimize the disadvantages of using AI. The paper questions if there are alternatives to AI and if AI technology regulation is really necessary.
